According to several sources from my First Three Years of CCHS Football there was another effort to establish football at Claiborne High School during the year of 1926. Below find his article in the 1966 Claiborne County Progress along with two clippings from an old newspaper of the LMU 1924 and 1925 Lincoln Memorial University football team.
