Hi Joe,
I have DAY ancestry on my mother's side. I have traced back to a JOHN DAY
in Bucks Co., Pa.(unverified). However, I have verified that my
gggg-grandfather, Samuel Day was born in Bucks Co, Pa. ca. 1757 and the
reason I have looked for a John Day is due purely to family folklore.
In my research I found a John Day who married Dorothy HENLEY and they had
a son, Ransom born in Spotsylvania Co., Goochland, St. James, Northam
Parish. On 3/29/1784 a John Day married Nancy Taylor and they had a son,
Overton born in the same area as Ransom. I'm wondering if this isn't the
same John Day who married at least twice. What makes it intriguing for me
is that my Samuel Day married Margaret Cohagen and had 1 son, Ransom and
another named, Ovington (sometimes written Overton). I think there is a
distinct possibility that John and Samuel are related. Do you have
additional info on him?? BTW, Sam Day had other children whose names were:
Hedgeman, Demoval, Samuel Jr., Rebecca, Dorcas, Addison (sometime Aderson)
