This is the very first of Football in Claiborne County - 1964

Billy Joe White was the most instrumental person along with Dr. William N. Smith, H.L. "Cotton" Grubb and C.L. "Buddy" Torbett
to see that Football came to Claiborne County.

School Integration took place and I had good friends both black and white on the Football Team

I didn't get my uniform right away.  It took about two weeks before someone dropped out.

My first several snaps as center.  I was center for three years after that.  We practiced first at the new J.C. Fairgrounds, next at the baseball field - taken later by John Patty Chevrolet and then up behind SMMS near Preacher Loy's house - Later owned by Larry Epperson.
