The Joseph and Tine or Tena Evans Sizmore of Manring, Tennessee

Joe, To the best of my knowledge these are Claiborne County people.
My mother gave me all the old pictures since at the time no one else seemed interested. She never got rid of anything. I am thankful for that.
My mother was Bertha Sizemore dau of Joe and Mary Jones Sizemore. Grandpa Joe died in 1927. I've tried to get a death certificate but seems there is none. I have record that a grandson, son of Robert & Tena Evans Sizemore (my mother's half-brother) died at Manring and a son Luther was born in Manring, Tn 1909. That was when mining was booming I guess.
My grandpa Joe is buried up the "holler" but I haven't been able to get there. I seem to remember going way up the holler years ago.
I had forgotten all about it since I hadn't been there in over 50 years but after about half dozen trips and running into a couple who had lived there some of it came back.
When my grandpa Joe died my grandma later married Emil Gratz.
He is buried at Fork Ridge Cemetery. I have been to that one several times and rambled with friends until I decided I was pushing my luck with snakes and gave up until everything died down.
My brother and I went over there in November and finally found his grave. The top has come off the stone and was covered in vines etc. We have to go back and try and clean it up and repair the stone or try and get a new one.
That cemetery is a terrible mess. I joined that cemetery association but they didn't list it. I offered to donate something to helping clean it up but seems like they are several in the same shape.
I will send you a large picture of my grandparents and several other people and a baptizing with several people with Bryson, Tn 1910 on back.
I didn't mean to give you a history lesson on my family.
I'm going to try and get further up that holler and find that cemetery. I am told it his hard to find. I have a friend in Cincinnati that wants to come down and try and find it.

My grandpa Joe Sizemore on right with suspenders and black hat, down front grandma Mary Jones Sizemore (hair back in bun) holding daughter Shirley , born 1907, beside her is Gr Grandma Melissa Caldwell Jones, looks like an apron & Scarf, my mother, Bertha Sizemore . born 1901, Ky. in front, little girl with hands crossed in front. By the ages of my Mom and Aunt Shirley looks like taken about 1910 possibly.  A son Luther was born 1909.  I don't know if any of the babies could be him. The younger man in back with hat behind young girl my mom says is Woody Lee.  Luther's birth is listed as 1909, Manring Tn. I think these are Claiborne County people.	Della Woods written on back

Homer Nunly and Joe Brewer on back	Robert Sizemore Bryson, Tn 1910 is written on back.  My mom said this was her dad, Joe Sizemore,  I have found a lot of old pictures have written the persons name they are giving them to instead of the person in the picture. Annie had a daughter Lillie Massey who married Jarvis Hensley lived and died in Claiborne County, Tn. I don't know which cemetery. They had five sons. She had a son Shelby Lee Farmer born in Tn. He and Annie are buried in our family plot at Locust Grove Cemetery, Keavy, KY

Joe married 3. Mary Jones dau of Theopheulous Jones and Melissa Caldwell. Her mother is in the group picture.

Mary Jones Sizemore m. Emil Gritz (Gratz) and they continued to live at Fork Ridge. Emil died1956 and grandma died in 1961 at Corbin. Emil buried in Fork Ridge Cemetery. Mary in Locust Grove Cemetery.
