Group from Rocky Top
Trail Shop in Gatlinburg. This trip we rinted the cabin in the next
picture and had tons of snow. Lots of fun.

Cabin we rented. All our
vehicles parked for the entire trip.

The shop where you buy
all your needs. We were on our way to the cross-country trail when I
snapped this picutre.

This is the ski shop at
the Canaan Valley Cross Country location.
|
|
 |
This is actually the
Cross Country trail. The down hill is the end of the trail and allows
you to ski downhill a long way before you leave. This picture was made
late in the evening after we returned from an all day trip.

This is Timberland
Resort without the snow. It did snow as you can see from the next
pictures.

All of the Canaan area
is a mile high or around 5200 ft. This entire valley is said to be home
to flora and fauna found only in the reaches of the Arctic and may have
been deposited here during the Ice Age. Even the deer are of a
different species than normal Eastern varities of deer.

If it doesn't snow the
huge snow blowers will furnish that for you.

These pictures were on a
tirp with a group I worked with at Lockheed Martin in Oak Ridge. I went

Upper Salamander Run
offers the beginner lots of time to practice. And if you want to rest
when you get through it goes right by your condo or to the club house.
I spent quite a bit of time even though I have skiied for years. Very
smooth wide and soft snow.

Beech Mountain Resort.
Three pictures I must have taken years ago. I think my nephew David
Payne was with me.
|
|
 |
I would say that is
David but I never knew him to wear pink.
|
|
 |
I think this is the Ski
School at Beech Mountain.
