Biographical sketch in the History of Jackson County. Known as Ben.
He was in Captain Jenkins company during the Black Hawk war along with George
Vancil and the Crowells. Alleged to have been the first white child born in
Jackson County.
Daniel W. Boon came to Glendale, Oregon with a companion of the name
"Redfield" in the year 1852. He was the first of the family to undertake
the long journey west. He was in Oregon when the Civil War broke. He
returned to illinois to enlist. After the war, he returned to the west.

Married William Hiess.
Enlisted in Company A, 80th Regiment, Illinois, July 25, 1862; wounded
June 20th at Kenesaw; died July 5, 1864.

When she married Ben. Boon in 1857, her name was Elizabeth (Burns) Lee. She was a widow with children from her prior marriage..
Buried in Henson Cemetery. Married Jesse Henson Sr. Had eleven children.
